Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory): 0 New. 4 Storm. 12 New This Week. 24 Inch Base. 42 runs open. 6 Lifts Running (1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10). Lift 3 (high speed backside) now open. Lift 5 opens Sunday. Lift 8 (Legends) opens Tuesday. The Columbine beginner area is open as are the DC and Angel's Tread Terrain parks near the base of the mountain. Save some money with two offers! Get your "Home for the Holidays" lift ticket for college students. Available only at the Bodo Park offices, $249 buys 5 days of skiing and riding for college students from 12/20 to 1/23. Also save money on your lift tickets by purchasing the Purgatory 3 Pak. Ski or ride for just $59 per day (a $20 savings off the ticket window rate of $79) when buy the Purgatory 3-Pack for $179 at Sport Systems on Montgomery or at REI stores in Albuquerque or Santa Fe. 3 Paks are available now and make great holiday gifts! (Only blackout dates on the 3 Pak are Dec 27 - Jan 3).

What's new this season: 11 new energy-efficient snowmaking tower guns have been added, and a state-of-the-art, high-output fan gun, making the mountain operations team more efficient during the early season to establish a solid base that lasts throughout the entire ski season. Purgatory Rentals got a facelift offering seamless rental experience from start to finish, complete with new boot fitting stations, snowboard demos and an upgraded rental fleet. The redesigned shop offers a more efficient experience with less time spent in the shop and more time to get out on the slopes. The new Burton Riglet Park will anchor the development of a multi-faceted ski and ride terrain-based learning facility in the base area. The Burton Riglet Park allows those aged 3-6 years, to experience sliding on snow and get a jumpstart on learning while having fun on the slopes. In terms of food, Purgy’s Slopeside Restaurant will offer breakfast (including pancakes and made to order eggs). And a new food truck will be located in the Columbine Beginner Area, offering convenient protein-rich, baked potato bar, warm snacks, sweet treats, and kid-friendly food and beverage options for guests enjoying the slopes in that area of the resort.

Wolf Creek: 0 New. 4 Storm. 14 New This Week. 30-33 Inch Base. 54/77 Trails (70% Open). 6/8 Lifts Running (including Alberta Lift). All terrain on the mountain has early season conditions. Tickets are at the regular lift ticket rates of $63. Alberta Peak, parts of the Waterfall area, Montezuma Bowl and Knife Ridge now open for the first time this season.

What's new this season: The Elma Lift! This lift is the new refurbished fixed grip triple chairlift for the upcoming season! The bottom terminal will be to the looker‘s right of the existing Alberta Lift, with the top terminal coming up to Flim Flam, where the trail branches off of Navajo Trail. The Elma Lift incorporates great beginner terrain along with some excellent intermediate terrain in an area that is currently underutilized. The lift will provide another way to get back from the Alberta Lift area, eliminating the long traverse across the mountain on Park Avenue. Beginner Skiers will have an alternate lift to use besides the Nova Lift. The Wolf Creek Ski School is introducing a new pilot snowboard program called the Wolf Riders for children age five to eight that teaches the basics and beyond of snowboarding. Tickets for the Wolf Riders can be purchased in the Ticket Office.

Silverton Mountain: 0 New. 2 Storm. 40 Inch Base. Open on Dec. 20 for unguided skiing. Guides available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Dates for skiing early season are December 20th and 21st, December 27th and 28th, January 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Telluride Resort: 0 New. 9 Storm. 24 New This Week. 38 Inch Base. 92/127 Trails Open. 16/18 Lifts. 2 terrains park open too. Log Pile & Bald Mountain hike-to terrain now open. Gold Hill Express (Lift 14) open for access only. No Gold Hill terrain is open yet.
